5th Sunday after Easter

A prayer for Rogation tide

Remember, Lord, your mercy and loving kindness towards us.

Bless this good earth and make it fruitful.

Bless our labour and give us all the things needed for our daily lives.

Bless the homes of our parish and all who live within them.

Bless our common life and our care for our neighbour.

Hear us good Lord. Amen

A few questions to get you thinking

  • In the first passage from Mark what is the parable referring to?

  • In Marks second parable what does the mustard seed represent?

  • Jesus used many parables in His teaching do you have a favourite and why?

  • We know that Jesus lived on earth for about 30 odd years, why so short?

  • John says that the world cannot receive the Holy Spirit because it cannot see or know, why is this?

  • What are some of the other names given to the Holy Spirit?

What are your own experiences of the Holy Spirit?
